COVID 341- Do You Still Have to Attend The Bankruptcy Trustee Meeting

I got a call from Dustin today from Riverside asking if he had to go to his bankruptcy trustee meeting, this week. And the answer is yes. And also no, I’m an attorney Joe Jeppson consumer bankruptcy specialist here in Kansas city helping people file bankruptcy in both Missouri and Kansas since 2006. Yes, we still need to go to this mean because you have an obligation to help the trustee to understand what’s going on in your case. In context of a chapter seven bankruptcy, the trustee’s job is to take things in tattle and so we need to help her understand what’s going on. So she knows that you are allowed to keep all of your stuff and that you’re eligible for the help that we’re asking for through chapter seven bankruptcy. The chapter 13 bankruptcy is this hyper reset up payments and the trustee handles a lot of money for a lot of people and he needs to make sure he understands that he sending the right money to the right people.

So we need to be there to help him, verify all that too. But while the court is still open, the doors are closed. So we are going to meet with the trustee but we’re going to do it by phone. That’s very handy because most of our meetings, my clients, or last three to five minutes because we’ve prepared the trustee ahead of time to know what’s going on and why you deserve the help that you’re asking for. And so the trustee just needs to check the box that you were there. Verify, name, rank and serial number and clarify or more likely to just confirm the stuff that they already know because we told them. So, we’re not going to the court but we are still meeting with the trustee. It’s an important part of the process and I’ll be there with you every step of the way. If you’re having trouble with credit cards or payday loans or medical bills or you need help save in a house or a car, give us a call for a free consultation. We’ll go through the details of your specific case and once I know where you’re at and where you want to be, we can put together a good plan of action to help get you there. Call us today for that free consultation.
